ABOUT US

Prosthetic Promises In His Name, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, was founded in the fall of 2012 by John Brinkley, BCO and Chris Reiff, CP, two medical specialists from Central Texas. The pair had just returned from a mission trip to Zambia, Africa, where they helped more than a dozen people by providing prostheses and ocular prostheses. John and Chris were moved by the experience and decided to continue their mission work by establishing a nonprofit.

Katie Brinkley, CPO, who worked with John and Chris during her orthotic and prosthetic residency, joined the Prosthetic Promises team in 2013.

John is passionate about serving others and using his gifts and talents not only at home in Central Texas, but also through mission work. While partnering with a missionary, he provided yearly ocular services in Mexico from 2002-2010. After that avenue for mission service was no longer available, John began searching for a new path to continue serving others. A connection through his pastor at the time was the beginning of Prosthetic Promises' work in Zambia.

Prosthetic Promises was created to help make regular trips to Zambia possible to help neighbors in need of prosthetics, orthotics, and ocular prosthetics. Chris Reiff retired from the organization in 2020, but John Brinkley and Katie Brinkley continue to lead yearly trips to the Southern Province of Zambia.

Since 2012, dozens of people have been helped through the services provided by Prosthetic Promises in a rural area of Zambia. The mission has continued to expand over the years with greater numbers of people served each trip and new opportunities unfolding to better help those in need.
