September 2016 was Prosthetic Promises' 4th trip to Zambia. After three previous trips working in different areas around the New Day Orphanage campus, 2016 was the first trip our team was able to work from our clinic building! This clinic was made possible by generous donors - individuals, churches, and businesses. The clinic was not totally complete during that 2016 trip, but the dedicated patient rooms and work areas made the team's work much easier.

2016 was also the year our Zambian team member, Protashow, joined the organization. Protashow had been working with us since the initial trip in 2012, where he served as a translator. Beginning in 2016, Prosthetic Promises has been providing a monthly salary for Protashow as he serves as clinic manager in Zambia. He coordinates patients to be seen during our trips, takes care of the clinic, and assists the team during each trip with fabrication and logistics.

40 patients were seen during the 2016 trip - 27 prosthetic patients and 13 ocular patients.
