Spring 2018 & Fall 2018 Trips to Zambia
April 2018 and September 2018 were Prosthetic Promises' 6th & 7th trips to Zambia. This was the first time our organization was able to make two trips in a calendar year.
In April 2018, we had our first volunteer from outside the U.S. and our first physical therapist volunteer, which greatly expanded the ability to provide care to patients. 80 patients in total were seen in April 2018 - 42 for prosthetics, 7 for orthotics, 24 for ocular prosthetics, and 7 for physical therapy services without needing a prosthesis or orthosis. During our trip, another volunteer serving at New Day Orphanage at the time was so generous to put together an interview informational video for us (view below).
In September 2018, we had a smaller team and provided prosthetic and orthotic care for 46 patients.
